NSX-T 3.1.0 added support for sharing the Geneve overlay transport VLAN between ESXi TEPs and Edge TEPs.

I often receive the question whether this is supported or not in VMware Cloud Foundation, and the answer is no.

The feature of having same VLAN for Edge TEP and Host TEP is available only for Edge VMs deployed to NSX-T managed VLAN logical switches.
For VCF / VVD edge cluster design, Edge VNICs are attached to VLAN portgroups on cVDS and hence the feature of same VLANs for Edge and Host TEPs is not applicable.

Supporting this feature requires redesign of edge architecture or NSX-T supporting this capability on Edge VMs deployed to VLAN portgroups.
